A Coward is someone who lacks bravery to face challenging or unfavorable situations.
No one desires to be labeled a coward. In this world, cowards are placed at a lower social standing. They are responsible for the lack of progress and for that reason no one wants to be called a coward, associated with one, or even be in their presence.
And as Christians, GOD has called us not to be fearful, to be courages, to understand that perfect love cast out all fear… But when it has to do with sin, it is always a best practice to run away... Even if you are called a coward!
1 Timothy 6:11 - But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so RUN from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.
If you are unclear from what sinful acts we MUST run from? Here is a list...
Galatians 5:19-21 - When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
Here's an example of a "Coward" who only wanted to please God... Joseph!
Genesis 39:11-28 - But it happened about this time, when Joseph went into the house to do his work, and none of the men of the house was inside, 12 that she caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me.” But he left his garment in her hand, and fled and ran outside. 13 And so it was, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand and fled outside, 14 that she called to the men of her house and spoke to them, saying, “See, he has brought in to us a Hebrew to mock us. He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried out with a loud voice. 15 And it happened, when he heard that I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me, and fled and went outside.” 16 So she kept his garment with her until his master came home. 17 Then she spoke to him with words like these, saying, “The Hebrew servant whom you brought to us came in to me to mock me; 18 so it happened, as I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me and fled outside.”
Running away from sin DOES NOT MAKE YOU A COWARD! Let's be more like Joseph!
