"I Have Sinned..."

  • January 10, 2024

We often hear the saying, "It doesn't matter how you start; what truly matters is how you end," and that's a valid perspective. However, this doesn't imply that we cannot commence with a positive approach from the beginning.

As we step into a new year, the reality is that our entry into it is a blessing, a result of God's mercy. He deserves all the glory and honor. As our heavenly Father, His love for us is unparalleled. Yet, like a parent, He may need to discipline or even correct us. It's crucial not to overlook the Lord's guidance and correction. Let's acknowledge our shortcomings, recognizing the times we've failed Him, while understanding that despite everything, He remains with us. However, we must not underestimate God; He cannot be deceived. His love for us is genuine.

Considering that many people set "New Year's Resolutions" at the start of the year, it seems fitting for us to do something similar. Don’t you think? But instead of a regular “New Year’s Resolution”, let’s also make a confession similar to that of the people of Israel in Judges 10:15.

"But the Israelites pleaded with the Lord and said, 'We have sinned. Punish us as you see fit, only rescue us today from our enemies.'"

Admitting our wrongs is not easy, but it's the most sincere action we can take before God. Let's commit to the following:

  1. Acknowledge that we have sinned against God.
  2. Understand that our sins may have consequences, but rest assured that God is just; He is not like humans.
  3. Ultimately, recognize that He desires to rescue us from eternal punishment.

JESUS IS THE PROOF OF THAT!
